The business of process


This paper introduces the concept of a business as a mechanism to produce profit, as it is only with profit that other favourable objectives can be achieved in the long term.

From this perspective, we can then identify the Fundamental Business Process and are able to analyse the capacities and constraints of this 'profit production' process as we would any other process.

The result is a simplified view of the business that allows us to identify profit constraints and make sound investment decisions to relieve those constraints.
